Nicole Ventura - Director

Nicole Ventura has been dancing since the age of 2.  Right from the start she new dance was her passion. She continued her training in many different genres.  Nicole traveled to Germany to represent the United States in the 1999 & 2000 World Dance Finals.  She has won several Nationally recognized awards.  At the age of 14 she was asked to teach.  She jumped at the opportunity and her love of Choreographing began. During her career various studios have asked her to teach and choreograph numbers for them.  "It is truly an honor to have these opportunities, I love to see my visions come to life."  Nicole is very dedicated to her students. She has watched many of them win National titles.  She prepares her "kids" ages 2-21 for the world of dance. The "Dance House" offers the best of both worlds to suit all levels of interests.  She provides a dedicated staff, along with technical training and the artistic development necessary for children to reach their potential. Workshops, private coaching & various performances are all part of the unique experience. 


Kelby Brown - Ballet, Turn & Jump, Contemporary

Kelby scored simultaneous achievements on stage, film and in the television world. Kelby has performed with some of the biggest stars in entertainment including Lady Gaga, Madonna, Usher and he choreographed the feature film, " Spring Breakdown", starring Parker Posey and SNL's stars Amy Phoeler and Rachel Dratch.  Some of his most outstanding dance accomplishments include roles with Ballet Chicago, State Ballet of Missouri, Hartford Ballet,  Los Angeles Ballet Company and the Metropolitan Opera in Lincoln Center.  Kelby also danced a principal role in Los Angeles Opera's production of a Merry Widow, and as the "Oiseau", in Cirque du Soleil's Las Vegas production of "Mystere". The biggest highlight of his career came when he was asked to be a charter member of Celine Dion's highly acclaimed Las Vegas production of "A New Day", where he worked with Director,  Franco Dragone and choreographer,  Mia Michaels. He can be seen in the feature film, The Dance Flick, Transformers 2, SYTYCD, (dancing alongside Lady Gaga), Gossip Girl and the hit HBO series, Weeds. He has also worked with some of the top choreographers in the business including Mia Michaels, Dave Scott, Michael Rooney, Sonya Tayeh, Stacy Tookey and Tony Testa to name a few. Kelby has  made appearances on  MTV's House of Style, Good Day Live LA, the Today's Show, World Music Awards and Oprah Winfrey. Choreography credits include the opening number of the 20th anniversary Kid's Choice Awards, starring multi-platinum selling recording artist, Justin Timberlake and Opera Noire's homage to the legendary Arthur Mitchell, founder and director of Dance Theatre of Harlem.

Kelby Brown began his professional dance and entertainment career at a young age, and successfully parlayed his experiences into choreography and teaching both nationally and internationally. Kelby has been on the dance faculty with Celine Dion, and at the infamous Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, Millenium Dance Complex in LA, as well as The School of Ballet Chicago, State Ballet of Missouri and Champs Charter High School of Performing Arts. He has taught on numerous dance conventions including Dance Masters of America, The Pulse,  LA Dance Force and Urban Jamm. Kelby trained at Walnut Hill School of the Arts in Boston and continued his training at the prestigious School of American Ballet, (the official school of the New York City Ballet). At the same time, he also studied hip hop, jazz, tap and contemporary. Kelby went on to build a career that includes everything from principal roles with classical ballet companies to film, television, choreography and hosting credits.

Kelby continues to work as a dancer, actor and choreographer in numerous live industrials, commercials, stage and tv/film productions. 


KElsey McCormack - Ballet, contemporary

Kelsey McCormack began training at the Koresh School of Dance in 2006 and then attended the Boston Conservatory where she received a BFA in Contemporary Dance. Throughout her career, Kelsey has participated in numerous intensives including, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Doug Varone (DOVA) Winter Intensive and The Nutmeg Conservatory of the Arts. Kelsey's also competed in events such as the Youth American Grand Prix, where she was awarded top 12 in Senior Contemporary. In addition, she's performed in the San Francisco Conservatory Showcase, with the Koresh Yotuh Ensemble/Second Company, in the Boston Conservatory Senior Showcase and more! 

We are very excited to have Kelsey join our faculty this year and share her expertise in ballet and contemporary with our students! 


Allie Gee - Ballet, Contemporary

Allie Gee (Glen Burnie, MD) grew up dancing at Spotlight Studio of Dance under the direction of Wyndee Hughson-McGovern. She competed all throughout high school and won various titles such as Miss Dance of the United States 2010. After high school Allie continued her training at The Boston Conservatory. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2014 after which she moved to NYC. Since moving to New York she has danced with companies such as Xaoc Contemporary Ballet, Art Deconstructed, and the Steps Repertory Ensemble. Most recently she has become a member with the Tania Perez-Salas Compañia de Danza, based in Mexico City. She spends her time between Mexico and New York and is always happy to be back teaching with the Dance House of Brooklyn family.


Christina Pioli- Hip Hop

Christina Pioli has thrived on her passion for dance. Growing up in Brooklyn doing competitions she wanted to make dance her career. She’s Traveled to Germany representing the USA dance team with the direction of Rachel Bacietto. She has had the opportunity to work with Warner Bro., Cadillac, Joan Jet music video and performed with Shakira on The MTV Music Awards. Christina danced for 2 years off broadway with the DecaDance Company & choreographed countless numbers teaching for the competitive seasons. Since assisting & training under the direction of GEO Hubela, ICON has takin Christina to new hieghts with such credits as kelly Roland, Brian McKnight, Celebrity Apprentice, Dance your Ass off, Beatstock, Old Navy, MACYS, Sobe Life water, Six Flags, Darrin's Dance Grooves,  Clearasil ,The Big Apple Awards,Old School Mega Jam & Her personal favorite the Fred Astaire Awards Newsies performance honoring Kenny Ortega.  Currently Focused on teaching the youth today you can find christina teaching across the states. "GO FOR GREATNESS"


Thomas Ford- Tap

Originally from Maryland, Thomas began dancing at the age of five. His unique dance background – a formidable combination of rhythmic tap and intensive technical training – has afforded him as distinctive a career as it has an inimitable perception and love for the art. His credits include Debbie Allen’s “Dreams,” “It’s Showtime at the Apollo,” “The Kennedy Center Honors,” Duke Ellington’s 100th Birthday Celebration, the “Tap Dance Concerto” with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Laurie Ann Gibson’s “Addictive” music video, and Neil Goldberg’s “Breakthru” at the Ziegfeld Theatre. He has toured with Lisa Hopkins’ “Tap Kids,” Mike Minery’s “Tapaholics,” and the renowned D.C.-based, Tappers With Attitude. The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts recognized him as a Presidential Scholar Semi-finalist, an experience culminating in a live performance on the “Today Show.” His work as a performer has yielded an exciting path as a choreographer and teacher, giving him the opportunity to serve on faculty at Steps on Broadway, various studios throughout the country, and SHOCK! The Intensive, alongside the nation’s most sought after choreographers. Both his work and master classes are highly regarded and continue to incite emotional discovery and movement innovation.

Maureen Brown- Vocal Instruction

As a singer, dancer, choreographer, teacher, and voice over and recording artist Maureen Brown has performed in theatre, television, radio, videos, and concerts in the United States and around the world. Maureen’s television credits include singing with opera celebrity Paul Potts (winner of England’s Britain’s Got Talent) on Fox & Friends, NBC’s The Today Show, and New York WPIX-TV Channel 11.  She has performed on the MTV Awards, Billboard Awards, Cosby Show, Arsenio Hall Show, Dave Chapelle Show, and  All My Children’s 35th Anniversary. In theatre, Maureen has performed in the successful West Coast tour of Dreamgirls, Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), European tour of Bubblin’ Brown Sugar, the national tour of The Wiz (with Stephanie Mills), Harlem Suite (with Jennifer Holliday and Maurice Hines), Radio City Music Hall’s The Christmas Spectacular (NYC), Red Hot Broadway (Prince Theatre, PA), Salute to the Best of Broadway (Harrah’s Casino, Lake Tahoe, Nevada) and world-wide tour with C&C Music Factory. As a voice over and recording artist, Maureen sang in the audio recordings Introducing Capathia and Dreamgirls and can be heard on radio and TV public service announcements, music promotions and comedy skits for Ed Lover (former MTV VJ and radio personality on NYC’s Hip-Hop Radio Power 105.1 FM), Kids 4 Kids (non-profit for foster, low income and homeless kids), Donald Trump’s Apprentice, and Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky’s United Networks Radio Stations (the largest independently owned and operated radio network in America, partnering with Bloomberg Radio and Univision Radio), among others. Maureen’s teaching repertoire includes beginner through advanced levels of jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap, lyrical, pointe, musical theatre, as well as specialty classes for technique, class and performance etiquette, stretch and flex, and jumps and turns. As a choreographer and teacher, Maureen has worked with aspiring dancers and singers internationally, including Luxembourg’s Ecole De Ballet, the opening ceremony for the Luxembourg Women’s International Tennis Championship, “Planet X” fashion show, the closing ceremony for the European Elite People in Sports Awards Show. She has also collaborated with renowned Artistic Directors and Choreographers such as Jimmy Locust, Frances Patrelli, Barbara Klein. Maureen has taught in numerous schools including Stamford Performing Arts Center (CT), The Dance Connection Morris County Academy of Dance, Inc. (NY), Bronx Dance Theatre (NY), Performing Arts Academy (NY), USDAN School of Performing Arts (NY). Stagelite Centre of Performing Arts (PA), Miss Barbara’s School of Dance (PA), Dance Education Unlimited (NJ), and Cathy Taylor School of Dance (MA). Maureen’s proficiency in dance, voice and theatre, has earned her a reputation as a judge for the American Dance Awards, Dynamite National Talent Competition, StarQuest International Talent Competition, Dance Masters of America, Showstoppers Talent Competition, On Stage America and Starbound. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Maureen has received extensive training in dance, acting and voice with teachers including re-known composer/author/pianist/vocal coach Timothy Graphenreed (who served as an arranger/coach for celebrities including Tony-award winners LaChanze, Lillias White, Hinton Battle, and driane Lenox), vocal coach Mary Rogers, Broadway Dance Center, Dance Theatre of Harlem, SAG Conservatory (NYC), and acting workshops with Marishka Phillips (Broadway/film/TV/Theatre artist). Maureen is involved in her community devoting her time as a choreographer for musicals in Stamford, CT, public schools as well as a volunteer for New York Cares and the NY Mariner’s Temple. She is an active member of the Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Radio and Television Artists and American Guild of Variety Artists.
